Allied Works will present two breakout sessions at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums Building Museums Conference in Philadelphia along with our esteemed museum colleagues.
Principal Chelsea Grassinger joins Erin Coe, Director, Palmer Museum of Art, and Jim Leija, Deputy Director for Public Experience and Learning at the University of Michigan Museum of Art, to share lessons learned from the UMMA’s renovation, expansion, and 10-year post-occupancy audit and the Palmer Museum of Art’s new building, opening in June 2024.
Principal Gabriel Smith FAIA, LEED AP will join a panel discussion led by Jon Maass of MAASS, Jessica Ludwig, Deputy Director of the Morgan Library and Museum, and Joseph Mizzi, President of Sciame Construction. Their session — Embracing Chaos: Understanding why museum design and construction projects defy easy order, and why that may not be all bad — explores the intricacies and eccentricities of museum design and construction projects.
