The Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis recently held a celebration for outgoing museum director Paul Ha. Paul helped shape the vision, voice and spirit of the museum, and brought a diverse array of leading contemporary artists and exhibitions to St. Louis. Under his supervision, CAM has become one of the most innovative and respected institutions of its kind, and a valuable center of arts education and cultural activity for the region.

The film below was produced by the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis for the Annual Gala Celebrating the Legacy of Director Paul Ha on February 4, 2012 and was directed by Derek Elz.

We at Allied Works wish him well, and offer our sincere appreciation for the insight and energy he brought to one of our earliest museum projects. We expect great things, both from Paul's new position at MIT, and for the Contemporary as it embarks on its second decade at Grand Center.

On April 18th, the Contemporary announced the appointment of Lisa Melandri as new director after a national and international search. Melandri comes to St. Louis from the Santa Monica Museum of Art in California, where she served as Deputy Director and curated notable exhibitions, including Beatrice Wood: Career Woman, which received widespread acclaim as part of the Getty Museum's Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980 retrospective. We look forward to her unique take on the space and the potential for new artistic expression.
