Clyfford Still Museum featured on Fast Company Design's website

Fast Company Design offers a preview of the forthcoming Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Colorado. Opening this fall, the museum will house some 2,400 works by Still, many of which will be exhibited for the first time. Co.Design editor Suzanne Labarre comments that the design "has that mix of fragility and fortitude peculiar to a painter who approached the art world the way a soldier approaches battle." Allied Works designs installation as part of book launch party at the Ace Hotel New York; Brad speaks at ExPac event

In celebration of the release of OCCUPATION, Allied Works responds to the site of the Ace Hotel New York’s gallery with an installation titled ‘Forest from the Trees’. The piece is intended to be a spatial sketch exploring point of view, reference and memory. An attempt to dis and re orient the experience of a specific room - obliterating boundaries with a new with a displaced and idealized archetype from the Pacific Northwest. Continue reading


Allied Works shortlisted to design the Virginia Commonwealth University's Institute for Contemporary Art

Upon receiving qualifications from 64 international architecture firms, Allied Works is one of nine firms shortlisted to design the new Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University. The ICA is intended to serve as a new gateway to the university and bring the most important, cutting-edge contemporary art exhibits in the world to campus and the city of Richmond. The University of Michigan Museum of Art has received a 2011 Honor Award for Architecture from the American Institute of Architects. The AIA Jury noted "the prominence of the site and juxtaposition of the older bold with new bold is a strong symbol for the university protecting their past and looking towards the future."
